In response to Delaney, I don't think that the news coverage is trying to target the black athletes specifically but there are more black athletes than white so that leaves them with more to talk about.
1. Do you think it is important to actively create media with diversity ?
2. Do you think certain type casting leads to offensive or stereotypical content? (for example, a "black" sitcom, or a "hispanic" sitcom.
In response to Briana, I do think it is important to have racial diversity on TV. Specifically, for younger viewers. I think it is important to instill values of diversity in todays youth.
Q1: Do you think that the inclusion of minority groups cause an uproar in the media industry?
Q2: In your opinion, what changes could have happened that caused them to start including different races other than black people in media such as shows and movies?
In response to Hannah, I do believe the exposure of Latino cast members is a positive thing for evolution despite the negative stereotypes because I believe that it is the only way that the world would include the minority group to media just like they did black people when they first included them in media when they portrayed them as monkeys,etc. But I do believe that the negative stereotypes would cause a problem and change…

In response to Delaney's second question, I believe the media heavily focuses on coverage of crimes associated with black athletes as opposed to white because the media, specifically news, plays into the fears of society. Unfortunately, discrimination and prejudice since the beginning of this country has instilled a fear of African Americans into white people watching the news. Society has chosen black people as its…
