In Response to Delaney, as somebody who is religious, I do not watch Harry Potter because of the witch craft and magic it shows. I believe it is a personal choice for somebody and everyone has their own opinions of it but i personally do not believe in it.
Q1: In your opinion, do you think Harry Potter is all around a terrible book, or do you think that people are too emotional about a book that was made for entertainment?
Q2: What are some parts of Harry Potter that could you relate directly to religion other than witchcraft and satanism?
In response to Macy, I think that these movies are made purposely for entertainment but I do believe that kids could interpret these movies however they want and get ideas from subliminal messages.
Q1. Does harry potter mindset change kids way of thinking?
Q2. If you follow religion should you not watch or think of Harry Potters ideas?
In response to Briana no i do not think of religion when i watch harry potter. it doesn't faze me as the aspect of looking at religion through harry potter.
1) Do you believe that Harry Potter sways the minds of young children to believe in magic?
2) Do you think that J.K. Rowling meant to incorporate religious aspects into Harry Potter?
To answer Delaney's first question, I think that Harry Potter could cross the line for somebody who is religious because it goes against almost everything they believe.
Q1: Do you believe that JK Rowling wrote the Harry Potter series with the intention of displaying these underlying tones of religion? Was she trying to make a point by doing so? Q2: Are these religious aspects of Harry Potter noticeable to young children and teens reading the novels? If so, what impact does that have on them?
In response to Delaney's first question, I think the use of magic for evil, examples can be seen through Voldemort's actions, can be see as crossing a line for some religious people because of its supernatural powers being used against good. This can be seen as a promotion of sin to Christians.
