1.) The article mentions that not sticking to the basics of a genre comes at a risk... Do you feel this is true, and genre guide lines should be followed? Or, do you feel that placing limits and restrictions on genres hinders creativity?
2.) Wha negative outcomes can you infer happen when English curriculum is not the same school to school? Do you think there should be a required structure teachers must following order to ensure all students have the same base of writing skills?

Q1. Is knowing one Genre fulling suppose to make us better writers ?
Q2. Is writing in one genre really needed to be a good writer because doesn't everyone have their own idea when they write an essay and when you read a few books from the same author they don't always have the same genre but still the same ideas and mind set.
In response to Caleb i think we still do have are own ideas because we are being unique when we write any type of book or story.

In response to Delaney's first question, I do believe that genres have the ability to be applied to facebook posts, texts, and tweets. Many types of social media posts have become well established genres and are written in order to elicit a specific response.
1. Were you taught a narrow and specific formula in school for writing essays that has hindered your writing and understanding of genres in college? If so, how?
2. Because genres are created and used based off of a previous understanding and structure, do you believe that genres have hindered our creativity in some form?
In response to Vanessa, I have been in a situation where I "created" a genre. I made YouTube videos for 5 years and began to make niche, film style videos with poetry and videography work that gained a good amount of attention and influenced other creators to follow in my footsteps. In response to Spencer, I do agree that knowing a genre can help accomplish goals when writing because it is always helpful to understand the topic you're writing about.
