Q1: Do you believe that Beauty and The Beast helps promote feminism and women in film, despite the presence of a male counterpart that most of the film is centered around?
Q2: What type of impact does the presence of a strong female lead in a film play in the lives of young girls today?
In response to Delaney, I believe that the context of the women in these films determines its impact on women in our society. I think that making a spectacle about the fact that it is a “feminist” movie defeats the purpose and objectifies the population further. A1:In response to delanyes question i think princesses are evolving and going away from the whole princess type thing, their are a lot of women super heros now as well
1) Do you think there is a reason why the lead female characters are becoming more independent and feminist?
2) Do you believe that there is a difference between the behaviors of a young girl who grew up watching old disney movies compared to the newer ones where the women characters are more feminist?
In response to Dylaney's second question, I believe that feminist movies empower women instead of objectifying them because women will not be as scared to be more feminist.

In response to Dylaney’s first question: Yes, I think more variety is needed in the movie industry as the current oligopoly has lead to stagnation and a lack of new perspectives.
1.) Do you think female characters are evolving (specifically in movies directed towards younger audiences) are shifting to become more indipendent as the feminist movement continues?
2.) Do you think movies made prior to this movement (when the traditional story of 'boy saves girl' was in action) actually influenced young children? Or do you think critics are reading to deep into the traditional plot?
To answer Delaney's question: I think the evolution of Disney princesses is a wonderful thing. I think young girls are taught that they can be their own knight and shining armor, their own hero, and that they do not need to rely on the support of a man or any else to solve their problems. I…
