For this video, either:
1. Comment 1 question
OR
2. Comment something that interested you about this parody and state WHY it interests you. Do not just say "I thought that one part was interesting."
Next, you will respond to someone else's comment on this post. Try to focus on the rhetorical situation and effectiveness of this parody, and this being a song.
The most interesting aspect of this parody video was that the creators didn't attempt to include any use of magic. The costumes and makeup were done in a minimal, yet realistic way so as to include just enough continuity for the viewers to understand what is happening.
In response to Jack's question: I think that the video did a poor job of explaining the full story, but luckily that wasn't their goal. I think the only thing that was truly understood was the fact that Voldemort was a dark lord.
I found it interesting that Lord Voldemort was the central focus of the parody, rather than Harry Potter (who was the main character in the book series and movies).
In response to Leemor, I think everyone generally understands that Voldemort is the "bad guy", while Harry is the good one. Aside from that general concept, some of the language would have been difficult to understand for someone who has never read the novels or seen the series.
Do you think the viewers of this parody need to be familiar with the Harry Potter franchise to understand and fully appreciate the video?
In response to Francesca, I do think they are designed specifically for people who are familiar with the original content.
as someone that has not read nor seen the harry potter movies i was completely lost on everything that was going on. Does the video show a good idea of harry potter but not really unique?
In response to Leemor i am a great examples i did not know what in the world was going on because i have never read nor seen the movie.
Do you think this is a good representation of harry potter in any way
In response to leemor I don't think so. I think you need to know the background a little bit of harry potter to follow this
