For this post, read and click through Facebook images I've posted below. Think about how the female superheroes that are being used. What are they saying? What's the rhetorical situation? Facebook as genre, the comment section as genre...what is modern about this? Then you need to either:
1. Comment 1 question
OR
2. Comment something that interested you about this parody and state WHY it interests you. Do not just say "I thought that one part was interesting."
Next, you will respond to someone else's comment on this post.
My favorite aspect of this parody is the idea that, if this were modern day real life, these princesses would have a pretty good chance of not being able to articulate what they need to say in a "sophisticated" way. Unfortunately, this parody isn't too far off when i comes to how people speak these days...
In response to Leemor's question: I didn't even think about cyber-bullying when I read this because I was too busy paying attention to how ridiculous the responses were, but you bring up a good point. I do think, however, that the main point was too accentuate how poorly people have become at communicating to one another.
Do you think this post is an accurate representation of online interactions today on social media?
In response to Leemor’s question, Although the post is comical I do think It represents modern day cyber bullying.
After reading the Facebook post i see that even though everyone was slightly arguing they had a little sense of humor that did not make it seem so bad of a act. Do you think post like these would change peoples mindset of facebook fights?
In response to spencer the cartoon is in this parody because it shows another side to the argument even though everyone is going back and fourth at each other.
Q1. what do you think the the purpose of the cartoon characters have in the post
In response to jack I think the purpose of the post is to expose bullies but looked at as cartoon characters.
The posts were very humorous and incorporated modern day slang and represented how people act on social media today. I think this was a a good way to make people realize that this how they act today and it does not look good. And in response to Delaney, I do not think this was over dramatized unfortunately. I will see girls talking to one another like this over social media all the time in a very dramatic manner. People are very quick to react and this was the perfect representation of that.
